Bobbi Kemna was one of more than 50 Kansas and Missouri artists honored at this year's Governor's Choice Award. Kansas first lady Mary Brownback recognized the artists by saying that the "real guest of honor for the night were the artists" in the Art is Ageless display at the Overland Station in Topeka.

"It is great to see Bobbi recognized for her art -- others are discovering what we in Southeast Kansas have known," state Rep. Caryn Tyson said in a news release.

Kemna has been honored on numerous occasions, including one of her most recent first-place awards in the sculpting and 3-D in the 29th Annual Art is Ageless competition. She owns and operates The Pot Pantry located in an 1860s stone house at 1366 215th St., Fort Scott. Kenma is best known for her one-of-a-kind décor pieces in clay pottery.
