Arson charge filed

The Bourbon County Attorney's Office on Tuesday filed a criminal complaint in Bourbon County District Court charging Ashley Nicole Owen with arson involving a May 26 fire at the home of Wesley Goodbody in rural Bourbon County, a news release said.

Owen is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty, the release said.

District 3 Fire Chief Delwin Mumbower said his department got the call to the mobile home fire at Hidden Valley Lake around midnight and the "majority of it was on the ground when we pulled in." He said the Kansas State Fire Marshal's Office was contacted. No one was hurt in the fire, which occurred about five miles west of Mapleton in the northwest corner of the county.
