Elks Lodge plans golf tournament

Fort Scott Elks Lodge No. 579 is hosting a benefit golf tournament June 11 at the city golf course.

Teams are still welcome to sign up for the Three-Man Scramble tournament that will benefit the city fireworks display.

Teams can sign up at the Golf Course, or at the Elks Lodge.

Fees are $50 per player, or to sponsor the event businesses and individuals may contribute by sponsoring a hole for $40 or becoming a Silver Sponsor at $100 or a Gold Sponsor at $200.

Those interested in becoming a sponsor should contact Chairwoman Vicki Walker, 223-4695, or the Elks Lodge.

"This is a really fun tournament," said Walker. "We come out for the day have a lot of fun and raise money for a great community activity that is shared by so many."

Registration for the tournament will be at 11 a.m. June 11, and tee time is noon. For anyone who needs to rent a cart, it is important to register prior to the event. The high school golf team will provide light concessions throughout the day and prizes will be awarded following the tournament at the Elks Lodge.
