Carol Allison poses with a selection of goods she bought to a Tuesday evening preview of the Farmers' Market at Skubitz Plaza. The market opens Saturday with hours from 8 a.m. to noon and Tuesdays from 4-7 p.m. It runs until the last Saturday in October, Allison said. She was joined by fellow merchant Linda Bower. Carol's husband, Tim, and Linda's husband, Chet, do most of the growing. Examples of things Allison offered are honey, jellies, jams and live plants while Bower had onions, radishes, lettuces, pickled beets and apple butter. When the market officially opens, there will be a wide variety of not only fruits, vegetables, flowers and plants but baked goods and arts and crafts. (Ruth Campbell/Tribune)
