Daisy L. Shutters
Daisy L. Shutters, 92, Nevada, Mo., passed away Friday, April 29, 2011. She was born April 30, 1918, in Joplin, Mo., the daughter of Clyde Douglas Williams and Glady Almeda Petterson Williams. She was married to George Shutters, Nov. 27, 1934, and he preceded her in death March 29, 1983. They spent all but five years of their married life on the farm home south of Nevada.
Daisy and her parents moved to Nevada when she was 6 years of age. She attended Benton School for four years. After the family moved east of Milo, Mo., she attended the Sand stone School until the age of 14. She was a member of the Seventh Day Church of God, where she was baptized at an early age. She worked at Key Work Clothes, and the Nevada Habilitation Center until her retirement.
Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Griffin and Margaret Podolak, both of Nevada, Mo., and Donna Keating, Holland Mich.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Fern Swan and her husband, Neal, Nevada; two brothers, Richard Williams and his wife, Naomi, Rich Hill, Mo., and Duane Williams and his wife, Lynette, Kansas City, Mo.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Carl Shutters; two daughters, Beverly Shutters and infant Patricia Shutters; one brother, Gene Williams; and three sisters, Marie Pryor, Joyce Bendure and Ruby Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Bill Platt officiating. Interment will follow at Moore Cemetery in Nevada.
