Fort Scott Director of Public Works Eric Bailey removes one of the "No Trespassing" signs from the perimeter of the golf course Tuesday afternoon. The city's purchase of the golf course was finalized Tuesday morning and the city has secured ownership of the property and plans to get the renovations under way as soon as possible. According to Fort Scott Assistant City Manager Susan Brown, the utilities have been transferred into the city's name and they hope to get a manager hired "right away." Brown added that the local high school golf teams will be able to use the practice green at the course beginning today (Wednesday, March 30). (Michael Pommier/Tribune)
