Four Tigers earn All-SEK honors

Four Fort Scott High School players received post-season honors recently from Southeast Kansas League basketball coaches as the All-SEK teams were released earlier this week.

Senior Megan McDermed was named to the Second Team and freshman Brianne Lawrence was a pick for the Third Team on the All-SEK girls' basketball team. Fort Scott senior Griffin Knopp and junior Cameron Woodring were named to the All-SEK boys' Second Team.

Senior Kelby McGrath of Independence was a unanimous girls' First Team selection. Joining her are Labette County senior Morgan Workman and junior Tiara Ford, Chanute senior Mackenzie Sutcliffe, Pittsburg junior Skyler Muff and Iola junior Kelsey Larson.

Joining McDermed on the Second Team are Chanute senior Jordan Wiltse, Iola junior Kendra Taiclet and Parsons juniors Taylor Kemp and Sierra Kemp.

With Lawrence on the Third Team are Columbus senior Kate Overman, Coffeyville senior Darci Davis, and Independence senior Sandi Wright and freshman Anna Hignight.

Chanute senior Dustin Eccles was a unanimous pick for the boys' First Team. He is joined by Indy senior Payton Botts, Pittsburg senior Jordan Elliott, LCHS senior Mitchell Smith and Parsons juniors James Jackson and Steve Jones.

With the Fort Scott pair on the Second Team are Parsons senior Brock Borovetz, Pittsburg senior Zach Younge and Coffeyville freshman James Newton.

The Third Team has Indy senior Garrett Webster and junior Easton Julian, Chanute senior Caleb Wood, Columbus senior Taylor Spear and Parsons junior Tevin Johnson.
