MICHAEL G. COLVIN
Michael G. Colvin, age 45, resident of Garland, Kan., died early Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo.
He was born Dec. 12, 1965, in Fort Scott, the son of Jack Colvin and Shirley Richmond Colvin.
Mike was a 1984 graduate of Fort Scott High School.
He married Teresa Weidman and later divorced.
He married Amanda Olson in July of 1998. They were divorced.
He worked for Valu Merchandiser as a fork lift operator. He was a member of the Kansas National Guard.
Mike was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Garland. He was a former member of the Elks Club.
His hobbies included hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his father and mother, Jack and Shirley Colvin, Garland, Kan.; two sons, Christopher Colvin and Dalton Colvin, both of Fort Scott; three daughters, Tabetha Colvin, Garland, Kan.; Crystal Colvin, Lagrange, Ga.; and Calli Colvin, Fort Scott.
Also surviving are three sisters, Pam Hagerman, Garland; Jacque Doty, Bronaugh, Mo.; and Pat Flannigan, Carthage, Mo.; and a niece, Kayla Hagerman.
Pastor Rick Womack will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m., Thursday in the Cheney Witt Chapel.
Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
