Brackets set for Pleasanton tourney

PLEASANTON -- The brackets are set for next week's annual Pleasanton Mid-Season Tournament, which also includes area schools Uniontown and Jayhawk-Linn.

Games will be played Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Action starts at 4 p.m. the first two days and at 1 p.m. Saturday. Two gyms will be used.

Girls' play will tip off the tournament at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Uniontown faces Altoona-Midway in the North (main) gym while Prairie View takes on Humboldt in the South gym.

Boys' action will be at 5:30 with Uniontown facing Prairie View in the North gym and Jayhawk-Linn squaring off against Humboldt in the South gym.

Boys will play again at 7 with Pleasanton hosting Crest in the North gym and Central Heights facing Altoona-Midway in the South gym.

Girls return to the court to wrap things up at 8:30 as Jayhawk-Linn faces rival Pleasanton in the North gym and Central Heights versus Crest in the South gym.

In order to keep the same school's team from playing the same time as much as possible, Thursday's schedule will not be determined until Wednesday.

Placement games will be held Saturday. Times are set but could be adjusted on the consolation side if the same school was scheduled to play boys and girls at the same time. The girls' championship game will be held at 4 p.m. with the boys to follow at 5:30, both in the North gym.
