MILDRED A. BURNS

Mildred A. Burns, 89, Lansing, Kan., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 at St. John's Hospital.

Mildred was born Sept. 15, 1921 in Lockwood, Mo., the daughter of Charles Robert and Delia Ann (York) Steeley.

On Nov. 8, 1942 she married Norris C. "Bob" Burns. He preceded her in death in 1991.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Gladys Englert and Sylvia Farmer and two brothers Charles and Cecil Steeley.

She is survived by one special niece Cecilia M. Steeley and many other nieces and nephews.

Mildred enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at Twin Oaks and going to the casino.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
