Ikan to host focus group in Fort Scott

Ikan, a collaboration of independent living centers, headed by Prairie Independent Living Center (PILR), will be hosting a series of focus groups to discuss independent living skills training for people who are blind or visually impaired.

One will be held in Fort Scott at 1 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Fort Scott Professional Building, 710 W. Eighth St.

Representatives from ikan invite Kansans who are blind or visually impaired to attend one of the 28 focus groups throughout Kansas to share their life lessons and learn more about the new services offered through the ikan project, which is funded by Kansas Rehabilitation Services.

Other focus groups will be held in Arkansas City (Jan. 18), Atwood (Jan. 19), Chanute (Jan. 12), Colby (Jan. 26), Coldwater (Feb. 10), Columbus (Jan. 27), Dodge City (Jan. 19), El Dorado (Feb. 10), Emporia (Jan. 19), Fort Scott (Feb. 3), Fredonia (Jan. 20), Garden City (Feb. 1), Hays (Feb. 10), Hill City (Feb. 7), Hutchinson (Jan. 19), Independence (Jan. 18), Iola (Jan. 27), Johnson (Jan. 21), Liberal (Jan. 26), McPherson (Feb. 3), Newton (Jan. 25), Parsons (Jan. 10), Phillipsburg (Feb. 3), Pittsburg (Jan. 25), Pratt (Jan. 27), Scott City (Jan. 20), Stafford (Feb. 2), and Topeka (Feb. 9).
