'Light Up Fort Scott' winners announced

Fort Scott was in the holiday spirit this year as homes around town were decorated with an array of lights and decorations. The "Light Up Fort Scott" light display contest attracted entries in the traditional and religious categories. Dolly Hollyday Tours, which ran from Dec. 15--23, took riders on a festive tour around town to view the houses entered in the contest, plus a few local favorites.

Riders became the judges and voted for their favorite light display. By a unanimous vote, John and Kathy Killion, 1304 S. Little St., placed first in the religious category, while Shannon Johnson, 753 S. Clark St., placed first in the traditional category.

Winners will each receive $50 from the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce. The chamber thanks all participants in the "Light Up Fort Scott" contest, and the trolley riders who did an excellent job picking out the winners.
