'White Christmas' presented by members of FSHS drama, music, art departments
Fort Scott High School drama, music, and art departments will present the musical "White Christmas" this Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7 p.m.
The cast of 35 students and musicians has been rehearsing for the past seven weeks to prepare for this play that features 17 Irving Berlin songs. The plot centers around veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis who, after World War II, have had a successful song-and-dance act. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former Army commander.
This year, six orchestra players will join Pat Harry, the conductor and pianist, to perform well-known standards including "Blue Skies," "I Love a Piano," "How Deep is the Ocean" and the perennial favorite, "White Christmas."
Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for children and may be purchased at the high school or Country Cupboard.
