GLENDA WOOD DEHERRERA
Glenda Wood DeHerrera, 53, went to be with the Lord Oct. 13, 2010, in Olathe, Kan., after fighting cancer.
She was born Glenda Ranae Wood, July 17, 1957, in Pittsburg, Kan., to Walter H. and Georgia Mathews Wood.
In 1958, she moved with her family to Ames, Iowa, where she went to grade school and high school, graduating in 1975.
In 1978, she graduated from Mid-America Nazarene University, Olathe, Magna cum Laude in Business Education. Glenda worked for Hallmark Cards for over 25 years.
On June 22, 1979, she married Alexander Paul DeHerrera. They later divorced, but were blessed with two children, Aaron Paul and Leeana Ranae.
Survivors include her son, Aaron, of Olathe, her daughter, Leeana, and her husband, Tremain Ryan of Olathe; three grandchildren, Dominik, Deven and Dexter Ryan; her parents, Walter and Georgia of Amarillo, Texas; sisters Sheryl Deanne Albertson and husband David, of Leland, Iowa; Stephanie Rifenberg and husband Jimmy, of Amarillo, Texas; aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. She has donated her remains for science. Her gravestone will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bourbon County, Kan. Memorials can be made to the Cancer Society.
