INA L. HIGGINS
Ina L. Higgins, 97, of Lee's Summit, Mo., passed away Aug. 17, 2010 at St. Luke's East Hospital.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Centerville Cemetery near Devon, Kan. Memorial services celebrating her life were held Sunday, Aug. 22, at the John Knox Village Chapel in Lee's Summit.

Ina was born near Osecola, Mo., on April 7, 1913, to Abby Hopkins Bourland and Earl Bourland.
She married Cleo Higgins in 1932 and in 1948 they moved to the Devon community where they farmed together for 40 years until Cleo's death.
In order to be closer to her family, Ina moved to John Knox Village in Lee's Summit, Mo., in 1994.
She was active in many activities there and made many treasured friends. Ina was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years, a member of the Devon United Methodist Church, the Red Hats Society, and the JKV bowling league.
She loved to play board games and cards. "Grandma Inie" was known for her feisty temperament and her devotion to her family.
She is survived by her son, Ervin Higgins and his wife Wanda, grandchildren, Terri and John Sievers, Tracy and Rob Halphin, Lee's Summit; Steve and Melissa Higgins, Scottsdale, Ariz.; two great granddaughters, Meagan Halphin and Jordan Sievers, and her sister, Marion Ford of Belton.
