After nearly three years on the job, Vicki Pritchett will no longer be the president and CEO of the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce.

Mark McCoy, the chairman of the chamber's government and community quality division, confirmed on Monday the decision by the chamber's executive committee to release Pritchett but would not comment on the reason for Pritchett's dismissal, saying he could not discuss personnel issues.

"It's a human resources issue that we don't discuss," McCoy said. "All I can say is, she is no longer with the chamber."

McCoy said the committee will soon begin initiating the search for Pritchett's replacement. Lindsay Madison, the chairwoman of the chamber's board of directors, will fill the position on an interim basis until a long-term replacement can be found. Monday was Pritchett's last day with the chamber.

When contacted by phone Tuesday, Pritchett declined comment on the matter.

"I think I'm going to stay mum on this," she said.

Pritchett, a native of Nevada, Mo., moved to Bourbon County in early 2008 when she began working with the chamber as its president and CEO. Prior to serving in that position, she had worked in media, public relations, and with several nonprofit organizations and government entities. She also brought experience in fundraising, event planning and economic development to her job with the chamber.
