Spring Hill seemed determined to embarrass Fort Scott High School's soccer team Monday afternoon.

The visiting Broncos took 45 shots -- one roughly every 1 minute, 42 seconds -- and were still trying to score in the waning moments of an 8-1 rout of the Tigers at Ellis Park.

Erick Kahn scored four of Spring Hill's goals, two on penalty kicks, and assisted on another.

Fort Scott's Max McAllister scored the Tigers' lone goal to prevent the shutout in the 79th minute of play off a corner kick.

Brett Allen made 16 saves as he withstood the barrage.

Kahn's first goal came on a penalty kick in the second minute when one of the Tigers inadvertently got a hand on the ball inside his own goalie box. His second came about a minute later off a pass by Dalton Rudy.

Alec Weaver scored unasssisted in the 32nd minute and the margin stood at 3-0 at halftime. Kahn assissted Cody Jessee on the Broncos' fifth goal 10 minutes into the second half.

Spring Hill went on to score four more times in a 14-minute span. After Kahn converted another penalty kick in the 55th minute and James Middien knocked in a rebound off the post in the 60th minute to make it 6-0, the Broncos began to push the ball in what seemed to be an attempt to make the 10-goal rule come into effect which would have stopped the game early.

Kahn scored his fourth goal in the 65th minute and Lucas Mapes scored in the 69th.

The Tigers (1-4-1) travel to Pittsburg this afternoon. They host Independence Thursday.
