ONLINE FIRST: Linn County authorities seek missing PSU student

MOUND CITY -- Authorities are on the hunt for a missing college student from Linn County.

An investigation has begun by the Linn County Sheriff's Office in the disappearance of Joshua Hancock. The 21-year-old, had been a student at Pittsburg State University and recently returned home to Parker before heading off to boot camp, according to Linn County Chief Detective Gary Stone.

Stone said Hancock was last seen in Olathe at 1:24 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 5, at JR's Place Bar, located in the Great Plains Mall. He added that Hancock's parents have not seen him or heard from him since then.

"That's basically what we know," Stone said.

Hancock's parents have distributed a flyer to help locate their son. The flyer states that Hancock is 6-foot, 5-inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. It also states that he drives a 1990 Lincoln Towncar, light blue in color, with the license place number, XFM 412.
