USD 235 accepting applications for free preschool

USD 235 in Uniontown is accepting applications for the free 4-year-old preschool program for the 2010-11 school year.

This free preschool will provide fun-filled, hands-on opportunities and experiences to enhance a child's cognitive, language, social, emotional and physical development in preparation for kindergarten.

Children must be four years of age by Aug. 31, 2010, but cannot have reached their fifth birthday and must meet one of the following criteria:

* Live in a single-parent home.

* Qualify for free lunches.

* Have a parent who was a teen parent.

* Have a parent who has not completed high school or a general equivalency diploma.

* Be developmentally or academically delayed.

* Be referred by SRS.

* Have limited English proficiency.
