Kalisa Marie Erny and Byron Heath Newton were married on July 11, 2009, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Fayetteville, Ark.. The Rev. Emmanuel officiated, assisted by Deacon Bud Baldwin. The altar server was Collin Bates, cousin of the bride. Musical accompaniment was performed by friends of the groom, T.C. Long and Michael Schneider.

Kalisa is the daughter of George and Susan Erny of Mapleton, Kan. Byron is the son of Lori Janssen of North Little Rock, Ark., and Terry Newton of Maumelle, Ark.

Kalisa wore a strapless gown overlaid with antique lace, accented with Swarovski crystals and pearls.

Amy Bates, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Guernsey, friend of the bride, Angela West, friend of the bride, and Jesse Jensen, friend of the bride. The junior bridesmaid was Kelley Bates, cousin of the bride.

The bride was accompanied to the altar by her father and given in marriage by both parents.

The best man was Patrick Tucker, friend of the groom. The groomsmen were Tanner Janssen, brother of the groom, Andrew Finnegan, friend of the groom, and Travis Youngblood, friend of the groom.

Kali Rank and Bret Weber, niece and nephew of the bride, served as flower girl and ring bearer.

Guests were ushered by Adam Bates, cousin of the bride, and Philip Pruss, cousin of the groom. Lonnie Strange, friend of the bride, served as guest attendant.

Guests attended a reception at the Fayetteville Town Center, where everyone celebrated with an evening of food, drinks, and dancing.

The couple honeymooned in Washington, D.C., and make their home in Pea Ridge, Ark.
