SISTER MARY JUDE DIETRICH
Sister Mary Jude Dietrich (Dorothy Frances) was born on Feb. 6, 1921 in Humboldt, Kan., to John Emil Dietrich and Emma Catherine Breiner Dietrich.
Sister attended school in Humboldt and received a BS in Medical Technology at Webster Groves College in St. Louis.
Her mission in health ministry endeared her to many through her patient, generous, and loving service.
Sister served as Supervisor of Clinical Laboratory and Radiology at St. John's Mercy in St. Louis, Mo., Fort Scott, Kan. and Slaton, Texas.
As she approached retirement she volunteered in Medical Records at Fort Scott, Kan.
In 2005, Sister began her retirement years at Mercy Health Center Convent, OKC.
She continued her generosity and always shared a happy smile. She was noted as a prayerful, lighthearted person, and dedicated Sister of Mercy.
Sister was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Sister Mary de Pazzi Dietrich, Ruth Dietrich Watts, Cecilia Dietrich Miller and brothers, Robert Dietrich, Paul Dietrich, Carl Dietrich, and Leo Dietrich.
Immediate survivor includes Lawrence Dietrich of Humboldt, Kan., beloved nephews and nieces, her Religious Community, Sisters of Mercy, associates, co-workers, friends including her devoted friend Donna Needham, compassionate physicians and caregivers.
Wake and Rosary Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Mercy Health Center Convent.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 23 at the convent.
Burial will be in Mary Queen of Angels Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kan., at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
