NAOMI "DORIS" POTTER DIAL
Naomi "Doris" Potter Dial, 92, of Pittsburg, Kan., passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010, at Vintage Place in Pittsburg, Kan.
She was born in Arcadia, Kan., March 2, 1918, to Thomas Edwin Potter and Edna Blanche (Bradbury) Potter.
She was educated in the Arcadia Schools.
On June 4, 1936, she married Jimmie Hollis Dial in Nevada, Mo.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, active in PTA, Hyacinth Chapter No. 156 Order of the Eastern Star of Kansas City, Kan., Home Economics Units from 1942 to 1975.
She also held the office of Advisary Chairman of Wyandotte County E.H.U. Executive Board 1960. She was a member for 45 years.
Survivors include a son, Garry Allen Dial and daughter in-law Marta of Overland Park, Kan., granddaughter, Dana Rewalt and husband Al, great-grandchildren Cailee, A.J., and Alex of Olathe, Kan., granddaughter, Alicia Dial and friend Dave Ascheman of Overland Park, Kan., two sisters Bonnie Ericson of Heber Springs, Ariz., and Patty Daniels of Redfield, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three infant babies, David Lee, Billy Joe, and Linda Sue; four sisters Elna Swann, Edna Lunburg, Ena Jones, and Darline Francis; a brother Tom Potter and dear friend Henry Villamaria.
Services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at the First Christian Church, Pittsburg, with Rev. Darrell Biggs officiating.
The family received friends prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
Burial followed in the Fort Scott National Cemetery.
