35th Infantry Division Band to perform

The Kansas Army National Guard, 35th Infantry Division Band, commonly konwn as Tthe Governor's Own, under the direction of Chief Warrant Officer Stephen J. Patterson, will perform at 1 p.m., June 6, on Fort Scott National Historic Site's historic parade ground. Seating will be provided. The Band of the Kansas National Guard has performed extensively throughout the Midwestern United States and traveled as musical ambassadors for the Department of State on three international tours.
The band, headquartered in Olathe, is composed of 60 citizen/soldier musicians from Kansas and Missouri. Each year the band performs for over 50,000 people as a marching or concert band, as well as jazz, rock, vocal or classical ensembles.
Admission to Fort Scott National Historic Site during Good Ol' Days is free. The fort activities are made possible through the generous support and assistance of the Fort Scott National Historic Site volunteers and the Good Ol' Days committee.
