Many ways to tell a story

Tuesday, May 11, 2010
Jo Ho, a storyteller from Kansas City, interacts with students, teachers and parents at St. Mary's Catholic School during a special event Monday in the school's gymnasium. During Ho's presentation, titled Poetry in Motion, she read children's poems and taught students about different types of poetry and verse, such as limericks and haikus. Ho also urged students to use their imagination. She also portrayed various characters from storybooks, and used props and humor to entertain and educate students. Ho's visit was part of Writer's Cramp, an annual event at the school in which students also share individual books they have written and display science projects in classrooms. (Jason E.
