Saturday blaze destroys east-side home
Fort Scott firefighters and EMS personnel responded to a house fire Saturday which left the residents without a home.
Shortly before 2 p.m., the Fort Scott Fire Department received a call of a fire at 420 Andrick, according to the FSFD, the fire was controlled by 2:18 p.m.
According to Fort Scott Police Department Lt. Shaun West, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The fire is still under investigation however arson is not expected at this time.
"At this point nothing suspicious is expected," West said.
Although no one was injured, the house was ruled a total loss, by the FSFD. In addition, the neighboring house located at 424 Andrick suffered damage in the form of melted vinyl siding on the north side.
The fire remains under investigation.
