Two charged in attack of Fort Scott man
As a result of an investigation by the Fort Scott Police Department, two men have been arrested in relation to the beating of a Fort Scott man.
Joshua Warner, 24, of Metz, Mo., was arrested on April 14 in Nevada and Eric Shores was arrested by the Barton County Sheriff's Department on April 21 in Lamar, Mo.
The two men were charged with aggravated battery and aggravated robbery in connection with the March 19 incident which resulted in local law enforcement finding 29-year-old Kenneth Springston injured and unconscious in the alley behind 113 S. Crawford.
FSPD Lt. Shaun West said rumors of Springston's death as a result of the beating are untrue, although he would not comment on Springston's condition.
According to Bourbon County court documents, Warner was charged with felony theft in mid-2003 which resulted in an order to pay restitution in the amount of $1,965.80. Court documents show he has not yet paid the balance.
Warner is currently being held at the Southeast Kansas Regional Correctional Center on a $100,000 bond while Shores is being held in Cherokee County. No bond has been set for Shores, however he is due to be in court on Thursday.
