LESTER VALENTINE SINN
Lester Valentine Sinn, 84, of Fort Scott, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 16, 2010 at his home.
He was born Feb. 14, 1926 in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of Fred Gottfred and Elsie Sophia (Eberle) Sinn.
He married Shirley Ann Turner July 26, 1957 in Fort Scott. She preceded him in death March 13, 2003.
Lester was a lifelong Farmer and Dairyman, and a lifetime member of the Olson-Frary-Burkhart Post 1165 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He served in the US Army in the years following the end of WWII.
He is survived by his children; Janet and Terry Grote of Wichita, Kan., Carolyn and Roger Welch of Bronson, Kan., Beth and Kenny Snyder of Fulton, Kan., Lisa and Bill King of Springdale, Ark., Brenda and Steve Hill of Fort Scott, and Jason Sinn also of Fort Scott, a sister; Eileen McDaniel of Fort Scott, 14 grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, he was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Oliver 'Buzz' Sinn, Jim Sinn, and Dean Sinn, an infant sister; Joyce Sinn, and a grandson; Jordan Snyder.
Rev. Paul Babcock will conduct funeral services 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, with burial following at the Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, Feb. 18, 2010 from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
