Emma Jean "Jimmy" Graham, age 86, former resident of Uniontown, Kan., died Tuesday morning, Oct. 27, 2009, at the Heritage Nursing Home in Girard, Kan..

She was born May 31, 1923, in Fowler, Colo., the daughter of Christian and Belle Weeks Sinding.

She eloped with Forest Graham in 1940 in Raton, New Mexico.

The couple moved from Colorado to Bronson, Kan., in 1952.

She worked for 16 years as a cook with the Uniontown schools, greatly enjoying the children she met.

Emma loved sewing, gardening and ceramics.

She greatly cherished the time spent with her grandchildren through the years.

Survivors include three sons, Douglas Graham and wife Mary Ruth, Uniontown, Danny Graham and wife Mary Dale, Uniontown, and Richard Graham, Girard; one sister, Billie Swope, Cortez, Colorado; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Leo Sinding, and five sisters, Chris Switzer, Margaret Ivey, Dorothy Jones, Helen Mendez, and Josephine Lind.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, in the Bronson Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the Bronson Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Bronson Baptist Church and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, Kan., 66701.
