Wednesday, October 14, 2009

The Youth Activities Team is giving students a chance to meet Jason Aldean, Adam LaRoche, and friends with a new contest.

The Penny Bank contest will be held in Fort Scott elementary schools as well as Fort Scott Middle School and Fort Scott High School and give students the chance to raise money for Ellis Park and win a "Meet & Greet" session with Aldean and LaRoche before the Ropin' & Rockin' for Pennies for the Park concert on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Bourbon County Fairgrounds. The event, hosted by LaRoche and family, will feature a special performance by Aldean with Kevin Blake Weldon.

Each classroom or grade will have the opportunity to fill up a bank. The classroom or grade that fills their bank with money will be awarded the opportunity for a classmate or classmates to meet Aldean, LaRoche, and friends prior to the concert. The selection of these individuals will be randomly drawn and contacted by a member of the YAT. Winners of the contest that are from an elementary school will be allowed to be accompanied by one adult. The contest began Monday and will conclude Oct. 23 with winners drawn the following week.

YAT has also announce that RV Parking will be available for the event. The cost will be $50 per unit and the unit must be parked by noon on Friday, Nov. 6. A paid reservation is required.
