Four earn 'Hound of the Week notation

The Fort Scott Community College coaching staff has given four players 'Hound of the Week awards for their performances in last week's 45-35 victory at Garden City.

Jasmin Hopkins and LaVonte Davis not only received awards from the coaching staff, they also earned honors from the Jayhawk Conference. Hopkins received his awards for his 282-yard rushing performance in last week's game. He was named Jayhawk Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week along with Butler running back Ricky Jacques. Jacques rushed for 8.4 yards per carry (151 total) in the Grizzlies' 30-17 victory over Air Force Prep.

David earned the honor for an 11-tackle performance against Garden City. He also returned an interception for a touchdown. The conference named David Co-Defensive Player of the Week. Hutchinson defensive back Matthew Pearson was the other conference co-POTW for scoring two defensive touchdowns in a 61-3 victory over Dodge City.

Alex Bowman, a freshman and a graduate of Fort Scott High School, and Andre Clark were named Co-Special Teams Players of the Week for their performances against Garden City.
