Long wins meet for J-Linn at Wellsville

WELLSVILLE, Kan. -- Jayhawk-Linn's Meriel Long took the varsity girls' race at a cross country race Thursday, finishing as the only runner under 17 minutes with her time of 16:41. She was the only Jayhawk in the varsity race. Kelsey Carbajo of Spring Hill, Kan., was second in 17:07.

In the boys' varsity race, Mason Craig took 10th place in 18:44 with Lane Harris 20th in 19:25. Arthur White of Anderson County was the winner in 17:45.

In boys' JV action, Tony Rockers placed 17th in 22:35 and Dylan Stanley was 37th in 24:36.

The Jayhawks are scheduled to go to Prairie View's meet near LaCygne, Kan., Thursday.
