Center also invites residents to newest exhibit

Area residents are invited to join the Lowell Milken Center staff for the grand opening of their new exhibit, African-American History of Bourbon County, which is now on display.

According to a press release from the Lowell Milken Center, the grand opening will occur on Thursday, June 4, starting with the Chamber Coffee, hosted by the Center, located at 4 South Main St.

The exhibit features archival photography of African-American history in Bourbon County beginning in the mid-1800s, including photography of early military involvement, noted area professionals, and a famous scientist and photographer. The exhibit displays the rich heritage of African-American history in Bourbon County, illustrating its integral role in area history.

This opening presents a unique opportunity to recount the notable contributions of the African-American community to Bourbon County, according to the press release.

The Lowell Milken Center assists teachers and students in developing exciting history projects that teach respect and understanding of all people.
