ALICE LOUISE AMES
Alice Ames, 87, died Sunday morning, April 12, 2009 in Olathe, Kansas. She was born December 7, 1922 in Waterman, IL the daughter of Edward J. and Bertha (Fundberger) Arnold. She married Robert 'Bob' Ames December 16, 1980 in Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death May 17, 2000.
Alice moved to Missouri when she was four years old, then moved to Kansas at the age of seven and remained here the rest of her life. She graduated from Fort Scott High School with the class of 1941. She was a member of the Nazarene Church, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Order of the Eastern Star. She worked as a Chiropractic Assistant for fourteen years, retiring in 1978.
She is survived by her daughter; Loletta Ann Troyer and husband Steve, and two grandsons; Eric and Nicholas Troyer, of Shawnee, Kan., and two step-daughters; Teresa Nahon, of Fulton, Kan., and Ralea DeGruson, of Fort Scott, Kan. In addition to her husband Bob, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert Schelton, July 9, 1968, her parents, and three brothers; Glen Arnold, Leslie Arnold, and Lawrence Arnold.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, Fort Scott, Kan., with burial following at Memory Gardens of Bourbon County.
