Two local residents, who were arrested in September after a brief police chase, entered into plea agreements this week.

The following is according to Bourbon County court records:

On Sept. 29, Jay Clements and Staci Clements, both of Fort Scott, were apprehended after the vehicle they were riding in led local officers on a vehicular pursuit, according to a previous press release from the Fort Scott Police Department.

At the time of his arrest, Jay was charged with aggravated endangering a child, which is a level nine person felony. In addition, because he fled in a vehicle with Ronald Wayne Bolin, who had an active warrant, Jay was also charged with aiding a felon, a severity level eight non-person felony.

In September, Staci was also charged with aiding a felon and aggravated child endangerment because of her involvement in the incident. In addition, she faced charges of fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer, which is a severity level nine person felony and reckless driving, which is an unclassified misdemeanor.

On Monday, in the Bourbon County District Court, Jay pleaded guilty to endangering a child, a class A misdemeanor. In exchange, Jay was sentenced to a 12-month suspended sentence and placed on one year probation.

Thursday morning, Stacie made an appearance in the Bourbon County District Court and pleaded guilty to one count of obstructing official duty, which is a class A non-person misdemeanor and one count of contributing to a child's misconduct. She was sentenced to serve 12 months for each count with the sentences to run concurrently. However, in lieu of the 12-month concurrent sentences, Stacie will serve one year of probation.

Brooke Bolin, another individual involved in the incident, was originally charged with aggravated endangerment of a child and aiding a felon. In January, Brooke accepted a plea bargain which required her to plead guilty to endangerment of a child. She was sentenced to a 12-month suspended sentence and is currently serving 12 months of probation.

Ronald, who has been charged with aggravated endangerment of a child, obstruction of official duty and two counts of drug-related charges, is still awaiting his sentencing.
