WILLIAM R "BILL" MOORE
William R. "Bill" Moore, 64, of Cherokee, Kan., died at 3:05am, Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Bill was born May 6, 1944 in Fort Scott, Kansas to William E. and Mary Elizabeth (Sluder) Moore.
Bill served his country in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1964 attached to the 141st Fighter Squadron aboard the USS Constellation and in the National Guard and United States Army from 1977 to 1985.
Bill is survived by his devoted companion Chris Triplett of Cherokee, Kan.; daughters: Kelley Ritter and husband Leo of El Dorado, Kan.; and Amy Stover and husband Joseph in Hutchinson, Kan.; son: Christopher Moore and wife Denise of Hutchinson, Kan.; brother Jim Moore and his companion Barbara Mingori of Pittsburg, Kan; sisters: Linda Lucas and husband Richard of Burlson, Texas, Pam Marsden and husband Joe of Arlington, Texas and Julia Walker and her husband Randy of Mesquite, Texas; along with five grandchildren Heather Ritter, Nicholas Sanchez, James Sanchez, Elijah Jackson and Allen Frank
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
