Jayhawk girls rally to beat Wellsville

WELLSVILLE -- Jayhawk-Linn's girls outscored Wellsville 13-7 in the fourth quarter to take a 37-32 win in Pioneer League play here Friday night.

Wellsville's boys picked up a 54-41 win over the Jayhawks. No other details were available.

In the girls' contest, the Jayhawks (5-4 Pioneer, 15-4 overall) were paced by Cassie Rockers' 20 points and 11 rebounds. Rockers and Taylor Dawson combined for 11 points in the fourth quarter.

"We played a very solid game at Wellsville," Jayhawk-Linn head coach Charlie Beckman said. "Our shooting was off but we were very good defensively."

The Jayhawks committed only 13 turnovers.

Jayhawk boys fell to 0-9, 1-19 with their loss.

Jayhawk-Linn travels to Prairie View for another Pioneer League contest tonight. It will be the regular-season finales for both the boys and girls.
