Redfield Ruritan Club news
The Redfield Community Ruritan Club met Nov . 13 in the Redfield United Methodist Church Annex.
The new 2009 club officers were announced: Skeet George, president; Letha Johnson, vice president; Maryetta Hixon, secretary; Lewis Williams, treasurer and Gary Judd, Freida Mackey and Larry Graham, directors.
Jerry Mackey and Wilma Graham will serve on the 2009 Audit Committee.
The Club voted to send $400 to the FSCC Scholarship Fund.
A report was given on the Lunch for Seniors held in October at the Redfield Community Building.
It was announced there will be a fundraising breakfast Dec. 6 in the Community Building. This will be an all you can eat pancake, sausage and egg breakfast.
It was decided to sponsor a free Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day in the Community Building for anyone in the community who has no where to go on that day or for anyone else in the community who would like to attend.
The Community Christmas Dinner will be Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. in the community building. The club wil be furnishing turkey and dressing and potatoes and gravy. Following dinner, free bingo will be played and Poinsettias will be given as free door prizes.
The Club voted to send a monetary donation to the Makenzie McDonald Medical Fund.
The Club voted to send a monetary donation to a program which will be filling Christmas Stockings for troops in Iraq.
The meeting closed with the flag salute.
