Wilma Linn

Wilma Linn, 89, a resident of rural Bronaugh, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, in Joplin, after suffering a stroke while gardening. She was born July 29, 1919, at the family home in Harrison Township, Vernon County, Mo., the daughter of Frank Heitz and Pearl Woody Heitz. Wilma grew up in the Garland and Arcadia communities. She married Charley G. Linn on Nov. 1, 1941, in Nevada. Wilma and Charley successfully farmed together. Mr. Linn passed away in 1972, and Wilma continued the family farm for years after his death. She was well known to many for the pecans she picked up and sold and for the beautiful ceramic pieces she crafted.

Survivors include her son, Jimmie Linn and wife, Jackie, of Bronaugh; and her daughter, Kay Johnson and husband, Bernard, of Deerfield, Mo. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Mark Johnson and wife, Brenda, Orlando, Okla., Lisa Peterson and husband Jared, Owasso, Okla., Brenda Farmer, Deerfield, Mo., Scott Linn and wife, Nancy, Rogersville, Mo., and Ryan Linn and wife, Monica, Bronaugh, Mo.; eight great-grandchildren, Tayler, Kaylee, Rylee, Hayden, Sydney, Charley, Taylor, and J.R.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents a sister, Fern and brother John.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 27, at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the McKill Chapel Cemetery near Bronaugh, Mo. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
