Birthday celebration, Halloween
There was the usual crowd at the senior dance Monday at Buck Run Community Center. It is nice to have the tables and chairs up and ready for coffee when it is done. Some of the ones that come early to help bring some nuts and candy to snack on and we all visit and we hear the latest news, hospital and otherwise.
Bob Hull was called to centerstage. He will celebrate his birthday Saturday. His wife Violet brought him a beautiful decorated birthday cake. It had a picture of a Chevrolet coupe on the cake. We sang happy birthday to him and pictures were taken. Ice Cream was served with the cake at break time.
New guest of the evening was Bill Ehmke from Arma. He and his friend Frances did a lot of dancing and said they would be back.
The couple from Chanute, who call themselves "Hill Billies" Bob and Sheryl Reynolds were back again tonight. They do a lot of good dancing and is interesting to watch them.
Alva Hite came tonight and helped put up the tables and chairs. He said Neva is doing real well and will be back hopefully to dance soon.
Everyone wanted to have a Halloween dance next week with costumes so everyone can come dressed in their Halloween costume if they want to. We do it every year. They spooks parade around the room and we guess who they are.
There will be a dance at Cadmus Friday night. There will also be a dance at Nevada senior center Friday night. It will be the last one this year. The date falls the day after Thanksgiving and again the day after Christmas. So they are both cancelled.
There were some new ones doing the Line Dance tonight. It does seem to attract people to try and do it.
The girls are still doing the Waltz Line dance and are getting good at it.
