Labor Day Senior Swinger dance

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

It was a nice and quiet evening for the Senior Swingers Monday night dance. The center was closed to the public and that does make a difference when it comes to finding a place to park and enjoying the evening.

We always have a good time with the different dances. "Put Your Little Foot In" is always a good one for couples to take part in. More are learning to do that step.

Then when Alva McNeely is asked to sing and play the Line Dance, there are always a good count doing that. The Chair Dance is another one that most everyone takes part in.

After break time, we had three new guests introduced. Robert Norris from Chilhowee, Mo. and his sister Jane Flewelling, Mo. They were visiting Bill Webster, who lives here in Fort Scott. Robert and Bill went to school in Nevada together when they were kids. Ron Wood was visiting West Coleman from LaCygne, Mo. He enjoyed the dancing and said he would try and get back again.

Helen Land will celebrate her birthdy Tuesday, Sept. 9. We wished her a happy birthday.

Lucille Shoemaker, who plays the harmonica, wasn't present tonight and Wes Coleman played a couple numbers. They did another line dance before closing.

There will be a dance, at Cadmus, Friday night.

I am up going again, just being careful.
