Area music performers to host show at the Pavilion

This Friday night the Pavilion feature including a cast of performers including: Steve Swanko, of Fort Scott, on guitar and vocals. Steve is a graduate of the Coat Guard Academy and the Lutheran Seminary. He is an accomplished guitar player and vocalist with his own unique style. John Stubenbauch has a master's degree in music and is also a graduate of the Lutheran Seminary. He plays many instruments including the bass guitar and the tuba. He also will be doing vocals. Steve and John do a parody song entitled "Momma's don't let your babies grow up to be Preachers." Fuss and Feathers will be doing traditional and historic music. Floyd Feezell, a regular at the Pavilion, will recite tales of Fort Scott and will do vocals. Dan Meara, Fort Scott native, lawyer, will be playing guitar and vocals. Among his portion of the show, he will do "You gotta quit kickin' my dog around." John Bennett, retired English and literature professor, will be performing on the classical guitar and will tell tales of Fort Scott and College days. Dave Oas, originally from Minneapolis, Minn., will be performing his original song, "Grade A Milk." Alex Oas, 14, who has performed on the piano and vocals in the Pavilion before, will be doing a folk song from "O Brother Where Art Thou", Let's Go Down To The River To Pray" and Saundra Carlson will sing "Buffalo Boy."

Ralph Carlson stated that it is a real pleasure to be able to put a group like this together for the pavilion.

"It takes a lot of effort and dedication to music for these musicians to all come together for this free concert," said Carlson.

"It never ceases to amaze me, that we have so much talent right here in Fort Scott. These musicians from all walks of life, have a love of music and are willing to share their music with us all. I believe that you will find this to be an eclectic show that showcases music from many different venues combined with folk humor about Fort Scott."
