Theda S. Headley

Theda S. Headley, 75, of Uniontown, Kan., died Sunday, July 27, 2008, at the Mercy Health Center. She was born June 11, 1933, in Uniontown, Kan., the daughter of Boyce and Inez Clare (Bobbit) Keith. She married Herbert E. Headley, Sept. 15, 1957, in Huntsville, Ark. He preceded her in death June 18, 2005.
She was a lifelong resident of Bourbon County, and was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Uniontown, and the Past Time Club. She worked as a cook in schools, restaurants, and nursing homes in the area since 1960.
Theda is survived by two sons; Steven Headley of Uniontown, Kansas, and Herbert W. Headley of Towanda, Kansas, three daughters; Patricia Christy of Hiattville, Kansas, Teresa Martin of Uniontown, Kansas, and Edith Hiskin of Belle Plaine, Kansas, fifteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Eileen Binford, and Barbara Franklin, and a brother; Gordon Keith.
Pastor Marty DeWitt will conduct funeral services 9:30 a.m., Thursday July 31, at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Uniontown, Kansas, with burial following at Fort Scott National Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, July 30, from 7 p.m., until 8 p.m., at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
