Local Red Cross announces fan program for needy families
The Bourbon County Chapter of the American Red Cross announces a new program, The Westar Energy Fan Program, to help qualifying families and individuals in the Bourbon County Area.
The program offers free fans to be disbursed to qualifying families and individuals, based off of qualification guidelines.
Qualifying individuals or families may apply in person at the Bourbon County American Red Cross Office, 116 S. Main Street, Fort Scott, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Anyone interested in applying must be prepared to provide proof of income and proof of residency when making an application.
Fan supplies are limited and fans are disbursed based on need. Applicants for fans by those who have received a fan in the last two years (2006, 2007), will be denied.
The fans are now available at the Red Cross Office. Anyone with further questions may call (620) 223- 0980 or stop by the office at 116 S. Main Street, Fort Scott.
