Senior Swinger's band plays at Gazebo
We had a very pleasant evening for the senior citizen Monday night dance at Buck Run Community Center. The count was a few less than the last week, but, the music and singers were good.
The band entertained at the Gazebo last Friday and the report was good. They were asked to come back again this fall.
We had 14 doing the line dance, a couple of new ones were even trying it.
A sympathy card was signed for John and Bonnie Gaddy, from Pittsburg. They recently lost a grandson. They are a couple of our faithful dancers and they always come early to help set up the tables and chairs.
A get well card was also signed for Sherley Forgey, who is still under the weather and is in need of more doctor care. Neva Hite is home again but is still unable to attend.
Alva and Virginia brought a sack of squash to give away, I got a few and they were soon gone. Friends bring extras from their gardens and share with us through the summer.
On the break table there were sliced cucumbers, squash and sliced tomatoes that Alva McNeely shared from his garden.
The Shumakers were back from Nevada. Harold became sick last week and they had to leave before break. Lucille normally plays her harmonica after the break. The girls like to do the Waltz line dance then.
Bill Webster came alone this evening, his son brought him. He came in early and helped put the tables and chairs away when we were finished dancing.
There will be a dance, Friday night, at Cadmus. There will not be a dance at Pittsburg this week. Virginia McNeely reminds us when they are dancing. Four of us gals went down there last Wednesday and enjoyed their dance.
There was coconut cream pie on the refreshment table again this week, thanks to Carol Davenport. There was also a gooseberry pie that went fast, along with the others. Thank you to all the good cooks.
