Local author publishes new book, teaches about God
LONGWOOD -- When we know and understand who God is, we grow to know who we are and where we're going by facing squarely where we came from. In her book "God, Who Are You? And Who Am I? -- Experiencing God by His Hebrew Names, author Ann Morgan Miesner guides readers through the stories of real women and men as they experience God in their daily lives, so that they too might commit themselves 100 percent to Jesus Christ. "By the time they work through the four parts of this book," says Miesner, "God will invade their space -- if they give Him permission to." Beginning in Genesis, readers will travel with Miesner until they will find themselves in Revelation 12 as an overcomer, sharing their own testimony.
More than just a study on the names of God, the book portrays what life becomes when we allow Him open access to our hearts. Miesner spent five years learning to write fictional techniques and transposing the stories of almost 40 women who also overcame. "I feel I've been merely a bystander as their stories fell into a chronological pattern (along with our family) -- explaining the Hebrew names of God -- and actually writing this book from beginning to end," says Miesner. "This book is solid, scriptural teaching of eternal truths lived out in the lives of real, ordinary people who know who they are and where they are going because they faced where they came from."
Miesner and her family live in Fort Scott. She leads a women's group called Women with a Passion for Jesus and is owner of Genesis Books & More, (620) 223-4978.
