The growing costs of oil, a local residents idea
Tuesday, July 1, 2008
To the Editor,
I am 76 years old.
When I was young, we bought recycled oil for 10 cents a quart at Hudson Oil Company. We used it in our truck, car, and Maytag washing machine.
We seem to be totally blind as it is, now the stations pay to have this used oil hauled away.
What is wrong with recycling this oil and making gas and diesel out of it? While we are doing this, bypass the oil company and produce our own diesel and gas.
Give the same big tax break that the oil companies now receive. It should be put into law that we all recycle this oil.
