Fort Cinema won the Fort Scott Cal Ripken Major League baseball championship by winning its final game on June 25 to finish the season undefeated.
Cal Ripken Baseball is the youngest division of Babe Ruth Baseball. And Fort Scott will play host to the Kansas 10-year-old Cal Ripken State Tournament July 18-22. This will be the second time in the past four years Fort Scott will host a State-level Babe Ruth tournament. As host, the team that will represent Fort Scott qualifies automatically.

SPORTS EDITOR'S NOTE: The online version of this story has some corrections. In the print edition, due to miscommunication within the sports department, it was stated incorrectly that the Fort Cinema team would be the one that represents Fort Scott in the upcoming State tournament. This is not necessarily the case and the Tribune regrests any confusion this may have caused.
