Nevada, Mo. -- Nevada Regional Medical Center CEO Judy Feuquay told the board of directors that several departments will go live with the Meditech system Sept. 1: Admissions, Medical Records, Performance Improvement, Bill-ing/Accounts Receivable, Order Entry, Central Scheduling, Abstract-ing, Imaging, Pharmacy, and Laboratory. The system is a complete overhaul of the hospital's computer system including integrated modules that can track a patient's records, including lab and other test results, from their admission to their discharge.

Feuquay also gave the board the results of the fifth annual Caring With Pride Golf Classic, held May 16. The tournament helped raise $13,000 toward purchasing Intensive Care Unit monitoring equipment.

"We express our sincere thanks to the golf committee volunteers for their fund-raising abilities towards the ICU monitoring equipment project," Feuquay said.

Dr. Dan Barnes took over the Emergency Department from Dr. Jerry Jumper May 1. The hospital held a reception honoring Jumper's service and presented him with a signed picture collage.

The hospital is looking into dialysis service and is evaluating the feasibility of offering it in Nevada. Feuquay is awaiting information from a contract service and a call-back from a possible partner facility.

Work continues on the cafeteria renovation. Some new equipment has been received and put into service. New furniture has been received but is awaiting the completion of painting and flooring.

Arbitration for the bubbling floor situation has been delayed until at least October.

Expert reports are being reviewed by both sides. While that is on-going the floor at Moore-Few is scheduled to be completed within 30 days and samples are being examined before selecting new flooring for the OB department.
