Austin throws Hume past Adrian, 3-0

Hume baseball won its third game in four days Thursday 3-0 at Adrian.
Junior Ryan Austin pitched a complete game for the Hornets, allowing two hits, two walks and 15 strikeouts. It was Austin's third shutout of the season, the other two were no-hitters. Austin's season numbers are mind-boggling: he has 76 strikouts over 37 innings with four earned runs and an ERA of 0.97.
Hume had six hits in the low-scoring affair. Junior Andy Yarick went 2-for-3 with a run, one stolen base and was hit by a pitch. Austin also contributed at the plate, going 1-for2 with an RBI, two walks and a stolen base.
Hume is now 8-2 on the year with a home game against NEVC looming. The Hornets wrap up the regular season with a home doubleheader against St. Paul May 8 before the District 13 tournament May 12-16 at Liberal.
