Margrave Church to have speaker

Friday, April 11, 2008

The public is invited the week of April 13-18 to attend a meeting with the church of Christ that meets at 1900 S. Margrave, located one block south of the National Cemetery in Fort Scott. A series of basic Bible lessons on the subject of the New Testament church will be presented. For most Americans the Bible is the source of divine inspiration, moral guidance, and the foundation upon which our nation was established. The Bible that millions revere as holy is under attack, being ridiculed and condemned; and an influential group of academic, government, and media elites allege it's the source of most of the evil in the world today!

Perry Hurst, an evangelist from Chattanooga, Tenn., will be the guest speaker. Through his 29 years of proclaiming the gospel of Christ, his labors mainly have taken him thoughout the southeastern United States. However, he also has had the privileged opportunity to work overseas in Bogota, Ecuador and Italy. His primary focus in life is to help his family and others to come to a knowledge of God's word and look toward Heaven as their eternal home!

Mr. Hurst's wife of 17 years, Heather, and their two young sons, Blake and Pierce will be with him in this effort. Perry hopes to create within the hearer a heightened awareness of the "famine" that is approaching; and unless we muster the courage to not remain silent while the fiber of family, country, and the Lord's church are being attacked, we will lose the battle!
